Early Ancestors: My
mother was proud that her ancestors joined the Church in Scotland and then came
across the plains in the Willie Handcart Company, as they joined the Saints in
Utah. Her grandmother Henrietta McPhail,
lost her father on the trek and lived for some time with Brigham Young’s
family. She said she was very well
treated by them. My Mom remembered her grandma McPhail. She said that when they went to visit her,
she gave them a silver dollar. She never
forgot that.
